About the event
July Disconnect to ReconnectÂ
Set in a quintessential English village and grounds of the 14th St Mary’s Church in Puttenham. Wild Ivy Retreats is surrounded by peace and quiet. The stillness of nature soothes and takes us away from our every day demands. However, amazingly we not too far from the urban sprawl and are just a 50 minute train ride from London, Euston.
The Day
10am We begin our retreat with a welcome ceremony led by Rosie in our cosy Tee Pee in the garden of Wild Ivy Retreats, with a beautiful morsel of Caroline’s delicious surprise vegan treat and a life affirming cup of bespoke Wild Ivy tea curated from our surrounding nature.
10.30 With our baskets, clippers, English 'wet weather-gear’ (or hats and sunglasses) we are taken on a foraging excursion led by Caroline of our surrounding kitchen gardens, fields and hedgerows. Where we will be learning about and picking flowers, herbs and vegetables straight from nature for our lunch.
11.30 We will stop for an outdoor morning drink, honouring the earth with Guatemalan Cacao energy booster. Full of antioxidants and a natural heart opener, we will hold a mindful moment on our nature walk under the ‘singing tree’ where we will be still and listen to the deep harmony and heart beat that lives within trees and mother nature.
11.45 This will be followed by a silent, mindful walk home. Allowing us all to be still and just be in nature with no other distraction or need for conversation. Time for silent reflection and to see and notice nature as we walk home in tune with our hearts.
12.30 Silently we slip into our scared circle back at our calm meditation space and absorb Rosie’s guided deep meditation that will transport us on a mystical journey, featuring our Wild Ivy original meditation music blend created by Flo Hill and Freddie Smith-Wright.
1.15pm Lunch is served. Caroline will talk us through her home-made feast of foraged, dug up, sustainable and locally sourced two course vegan and gluten free lunch. With the emphasis on zero waste and 100% cooked with love. We enjoy the delicious food with homemade drinks and teas eaten casually on rugs and benches in the grounds of St Mary’s Church.
2.15pm Refreshed and ready for action the second half of our day is dedicated to playtime. As artists, both Caroline and Rosie feel strongly that we can unlock creative blocks and connect to our inner child when we using our minds and hands to create beautiful things with zero judgement of the outcome. Just enjoying the process.
For example, our afternoon session may offer;
* Wild art work session using our foraged blooms and nature
* Creating take home edibles, bath confetti, candles and foraged oils, balms and beauty offerings
* Wild Ivy pressed flower diary using the blooms and stems
* Rosie's personal ‘angel card’ readings
* Cleansing Smudge Wraps - with your own intentions wrapped inside
3.30pm The day will close as we began, together in our tee pee circle. With a releasing, gratitude ceremony. Storytelling, mediation and our Wild Ivy Retreat seeded intention gifts.
4pm Home time and Wild Ivy Market Place.
Optional Accommodation
We also can recommend local luxury yurt accommodation, Airbnb or camp sites for those who want to stop over and retreat into nature for the whole weekend!
